Fifteen Months and all is NOT well…

My heretofore adorable and sweet son has taken to throwing temper tantrums. Like full on temper tantrums. And I don’t know what to do about it. Around 1 am last night, Husband and I were awakened by what sounded like a mournful little cry. So I went to check on my son. He was lying […]

I was up early on Sunday…

So I watched this program Sunday morning on PBS. I don’t know what it was called. I don’t really remember much about it except that it was a panel of women discussing topics that relate to women. Chime in if you know what show it was because I totally thought it was awesome. The reason […]

We’re Housing Edmund Hillary…

Around 5:30 on the afternoon of November 28th an event happened that shook our world.  To say that everything changed is an understatement. Even the dog is scared. What was this “magnificent” world changing event? My son learned how to climb on the sofa. Seriously. He threw a leg up and then scratched and clawed […]

It’s the Holiday Season…

Ah Thanksgiving. A time to spend with family or friends; a time to think on everything you are thankful for throughout the year… a time to eat your weight in turkey or stuffing or some type of bacon wrapped sausage casserole. Or if you’re me, a time to eat twice your weight in a vegetarian […]

Being Thankful…

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. And in honor of this much maligned food holiday I am spending all day today just being thankful. (Read: I have no time to actually write a post because we’re traveling to Ocean Isle Beach today at noon so get over it and read what I’m thankful for.) What am I thankful for? […]

Running Down A Dream

I have thin skin. And I don’t mean that you can see the veins through my skin, although you can, I mean that I figuratively have very thin skin. I always have had thin skin and it has never served me well. I share this with you because, well, I think you should know that […]

Phase-ology

I don’t know much about… well, anything… but what I do know about children is that absolutely everything that happens under the age of five can apparently be characterized as that lovely word… “Phase.” As in “Oh he’ll phase out of that” and “Oh, that’s just a phase.” It’s what people say when they don’t […]

Casual Friday and let’s not talk about Saturday, please, and thank you.

I love that I can wear jeans to work on Friday. Especially this week. I need a day where I can be comfortable. My boss, or at least my immediate in the office boss, does not wear jeans on Friday. He does not believe in the idea of a “Casual Friday.” In fact, I’m pretty […]

Suit up, Law Momma.

I would love to tell you all about something more exciting than what I have to say today. But someone in my Atlanta office thinks I’m competent enough to be handling a Magistrate Court case today so I’m off to court. In my pretty dress and snazzy shoes. I hope the judge is impressed. I […]

Bah Humbug and all that Jazz

Ahhhh…. the holidays. A time of joy and laughter. A time of magical wonder and sugar-plum fairies. Or, if you’re in your first few years of marriage? Hell. Every year, I’m taken by surprise when the holidays get here. Crazy things start happening, like Mary Poppins’ evil twin sister is working her negative mojo. My […]

  • I'm a divorced, single mom to a pre-schooler, a full-time attorney, and a semi-reluctant vegetarian. I work hard and when given the chance, I play hard... but I'm almost never given the chance.

I think fart jokes are funny, I'm pretty sure magic is real, and my life long dream is to buy a farm and write a novel while watching horses run around at a respectable distance. (Because horses are scary up close. Seriously.)
