Is it Monday already?

Posted on | November 1, 2010 | 4 Comments

I came into a messy office this morning.

My phone voicemail light was blinking like it’s life depended on it… seventeen messages. Awesome. My chair was stacked high with all the mail I received last week and last Monday’s coffee mug was still collecting dust in front of the computer.

Somehow? I don’t think the travel mug of Cinnamon Gingerbread coffee is going to be enough to get me through this day. Taking time off from work, even when you have full file and email access from home, can give you an ulcer in this career. Part of me wants to just light a match, toss it into my office, and run away to somewhere tropical. The other part of me has settled into my not-so-comfy chair and is semi-ready to take on the day.

My kid is coughing himself to sleep at night. My husband has the flu. I report at 8am for a CT scan of my kidneys tomorrow morning. The house Macon still hasn’t sold. We just sent yet another check for yet another repair for something discovered by the realtor or one of the many people who don’t really want to buy… they just want to make us more miserable.

But hey, I’ve got seventeen voicemail messages to look forward to. So that’s something, right?

I hate Mondays.

The worst way to start a Monday is when you're a week behind. Hope you get it all done so that your week isn't bogged down!
