We’re Housing Edmund Hillary…

Around 5:30 on the afternoon of November 28th an event happened that shook our world.  To say that everything changed is an understatement. Even the dog is scared.

What was this “magnificent” world changing event?

My son learned how to climb on the sofa.

Seriously. He threw a leg up and then scratched and clawed his way up until he was first sitting, then standing, and then, inexplicably dancing over his achievement.  I just so happened to have my Flip available when this happened. I didn’t get the actual climbing or the initial dancing, but with a little encouragement, he picked up where he left off.

I should probably also share that all of this happy occurred after I blocked him out of the pantry after finding him seriously scavenging for food and he got so mad that he took his pacifier out of his mouth and threw it at me.

He’s been seriously moody all day. And when you throw in the fact that, as Husband says, he looks like one of those red-bottomed baboons, we’re pretty sure we’re entering into molar-ville. Teething is the only explanation for this type of full on whiny.

But even with all the whiny, it’s good to be home. We had a great Thanksgiving with my family at the beach and left on Saturday for the LOOOONG drive home with half a zillion other people. It was totally worth it, though. My sister and her family live almost 6 hours away so for J to spend time with his cousins is awesome. Even more awesome? He’s been wandering around our apartment looking for them and asking for them by name. I never had cousins when I was growing up. My cousins on my dad’s side were all a lot older and on my mom’s side, they were all a lot younger. So it’s important to me that J get to spend time with his cousins because they’re so close in age.

So we’re back home and ready to get into the swing of Christmas. And now that we have an official climber in the house, I’m very very scared about the survival odds for our Christmas tree….

he is seriously CUTE!! I love the head shaking dance!! Isn't it the best when THEY are proud of themselves, too? I never seem to have the camera handy when those great moments arise — yeah for you!

zomg, Harrison scavenges in the pantry, too.

I found him the other day elbow deep in Sour Cream & Onion potato chips.

And I'm still SO jealous that you spent Thanksgiving on the beach!! We spent it buried under snow.

We put our tree on the Piano – they can't get up there yet!
