McFatty Monday

Well it’s Monday. And it’s the Monday after Christmas which means… ugh. I tried really hard to make good choices over the holidays. I tried to eat healthy, I really did. But guys… it’s CHRISTMAS. It’s the time of cookies and pies and cakes… in particular, my mother’s six layer coconut cake and my 94 year old granny’s poundcake. How do you turn that down?

So what I tried to do was to portion myself. I tried to watch what I put in my mouth and balance the sweets with veggies. I planned to go out and walk with my sister over the weekend but instead? This is what Christmas Day brought …

So rather than walking, I took my little monkey out to play in the snow. He wasn’t a huge fan to be honest, but he did let me pull him around on the sled and even helped to build a snowman. I guess, then that I found a way to at least get a little exercise? I’m stuck in North Carolina this lovely, wintry Monday, so I don’t have “MY” scale. But on my parent’s scale, the end result was positive!

STATS:

Weight: +19 (one pound lost!)
Mood: awake, annoyed, and alarmingly cold. But ultimately? I lost a pound. Over Christmas. WOOT!

In other news, I hope everyone had a great Christmas “break!” What did you get? Anything awesome? I got a gift card to Ann Taylor and some gorgeous jewelry from my mother in law, pots and pans and (thank GOD) a new toaster from my parents along with the Spring in Chapel Hill framed print by Bill Mangum. (I have Winter in my office so now I have the matching set!) Overall? A pretty great Christmas… and Santa isn’t coming to visit J until NEXT weekend!

WOOO HOO!! How anyone could lose a pound during Christmas week is beyond me!! Just yet another sign that you are SUPERHUMAN!!
    Congrats!!

Glad you had a great break – and in the long run…the fact that J was NOT a fan of the "white stuff" will benefit you greatly in the long run:)

    That is awesome!
Exercise = sledding down the hill and then lugging my fat behind + a child on the sled back up the hill…..repeatedly!
