Liberating Working Moms from Mainstream Media

Posted on | September 14, 2012 | No Comments

I’m on a rant over at Liberating Working Moms about who is portrayed as “successful” in working mother magazines.  I think it’s unfortunate that the media seems to think we only want to read about women who can afford live in help, the most expensive shoes and clothes, and vacations in Aspen (where the beer flows like wine.)  Some of us, dare I say MOST of us, are unable to reach that definition of “success” so why can’t we have reasonable and reachable goals laid out in the magazines allegedly designed for us?

This is my last day home with J for the week so I’m kind of shell-shocked and over-caffeinated.  Hope you all have a fabulous Friday and wonderful Weekend days, too. 🙂  In the meantime, stop by and check out my thoughts on mainstream media’s portrayal of women who work outside the home.
